The Listeners
Norway | World Premiere
Lighting design for the world premiere of The Listeners, a new opera composed by Missy Mazzoli with a libretto by Royce Vavrek, based on a story by Jordan Tannahill. It is directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, conducted by Ilan Volkov, and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly. The set is by Adam Rigg, the clothes are by Kaye Voyce, and the projections are by Hannah Wasileski. It premiered in September 2022 at Den Norske Opera, the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, in a co-production with Opera Philadelphia and Chicago Lyric Opera.
