Lighting design for the New York premiere of Somi Kakoma’s Dreaming Zenzile, based on the life of Miriam Makeba. It is directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, and choreographed by Marjani Forté-Saunders. The music direction by is Hervé Samb, the set is by Riccardo Hernandez, the clothes are by Mimi Plange, the sound is by Justin Ellington, and the projections are by Hannah Wasileski. It premiered in May 2022 at New York Theatre Workshop, in a co-production with National Black Theatre. Prior to its New York premiere, it had played at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, McCarter Theatre, and ArtsEmerson.
